we want to convert to one piece side gl***. we found the one piece gl*** for $50 and universal mouldings for $ 35. we are thinking to use the division bar as the front gl*** guide with a bracket or two. any thoughts on this. the one piece kits are $295.00 and that is not in my wallet. thanks for your ideas.

I put one piece gl*** in my '48 f1. Used the same basic idea your thinking about. Modified an old division bar for the front run channel, and a reproduction window regulator. The front run has mount bracket that will allow it to move front to rear, and in and out inside the door, picture 2 "L" brackets mounted together. Just had to mess with the regulator channel placement on the gl*** a little bit to get the gl*** to roll up and down straight. It actually works very well.

I've got a '48 that was seriously burned. Found out that replacing the vent windows and all the parts could get pricy quick. Thought about the one piece fix......... well, I got a power window kit for cheap, sent for a kit less gl***, but it had the brackets and channels. (can't remember where) It still sets in the garage waiting for me but I can't seem to get the drive to finish it. This stuff is out of my comfort zone. Truck is all painted, runs fine and has the front and rear gl*** in it. Need someone to light a fire under my **** I guess.

  5. thats funny, my truck had one piece gl*** which i converted back to vent style... mostly because i dont have AC. when i got it the guy just welded a little more on the window regulator track and it had some aftermarket guide. worked like ****.....okay now im wondering why i even posted

I converted my 48 to the one piece gl*** because fixing the vent windows would've cost more. I think I used the Sacramento Vintage Ford kit but it was as straight forward as you state. Only need a front and rear channel with fuzzies, a lift mechanism, a stop at the bottom, and and fuzzies for the door.
