Well, A trip from Kracker Station to Dallas Texas with my wife Rusti this past weekend was well worth it. She bought me a really nice 30 Tudor body. Im working on a 40 Ford P/U for her, but she once again proved that I married well She took this pic after we got home and wanted me to post it here. Plans are 32 pinched frame( highboy) UN-chopped, black enamel, 40 steelies, 9" rear, 40 stock front axle, and-----still deciding on a 331 Hemi or a 260 SBF. I have the 260 pretty well on its way, and the 331 is at the machine shop. I may save the Hemi for a model a roadster in the future. We picked it up at Carl's Automotive in Red Oak Texas and had a great time visiting with them. Anyway, I already have some body work done. The body is excellent. I really want to build it unchopped as I can always chop it later if Im ready for a new look. Any advise or opinions are appreciated-----Lee
Can anyone tell me if the aftermarket panels above the door for the 30-31 Tudor's have the stock holes in them?
No sisters! She is great for sure. She bought me a 2 post lift for Christmas. Yesterday I got a text that read " Have you ordered my valve springs for my 289 yet?" How many guys have gotten a text like that from their ladies?
She's a keeper, both rusty projects. When you said UN-chop I thought you were going to undo a chop - now that would be work.
Looking at some different options for the 32 frame. Looking at one from Street Rod Garage in Alabama. I could drive there to pick it up.
Im getting pics of my progress tomorrow. Ive installed two patch panels so far and started rust treatment and priming. Im torn between doing a highboy on a 32 frame or using my A frame. I mix my own paint, so today I mixed a mica white and very dark blue base colorant 1 to 1. Then I mixed that 1 to 1 with satin black Polane T. Im going to test a panel with it tomorrow. Should be interesting. I have a 40 Sedan that Im robbing the front axle from. Not sure on the rear yet. 9" probably.
Lucky *******, for the guys saying better take care of her it sounds like your doing that already. Great plan you have. Keep us posted.
