Anybody remember the night the orange 1969 GTO started a fire with its hot headers in the grass parking lot?

 

I worked the gate there in the 80's for a couple of years.

I even talked my friend into racing his prestine '66 delta 88 in the year end "endurance" race. Would never do that now

EDIT: I worked at the Langley track in Hampton VA, not Canada..lol

 

Anybody know if Don Fletcher in the pic above is related to Jeff Fletcher That used to come down to the US and race with us in the dirt at Skagit?

 

Great thread, and that super sized shot of the 30 locked up sideways with the driver grinning is priceless...
