This meant to be a joke, I think, but check out the color changes in the scallop shell as it changes from the hinge to the edge. doing something like that on the colors within the scallops on your car is cool. We usta call that "flamed scallops" where the shape was a scallop but the colors faded, or made a sunburst like a flame.
That's what I was getting at. Oh, and I've never seen a more tasteful set than these. Nevermind the big door ding, it's already been fixed. Gl***guy's car...
Nope! That's my scratch built FED (dragster) - that's taking FOREVER and a day to build!!!! Thanks for the kind words.
Hemirambler that looks like some awsome work. Do you have any more pictures. Was it done with a hammerform or freehand. Tell us more please. Michael
Thanks Michael - I didn't mean to hi-jack this thread, but since you asked - this was done by a method I stumbled on while looking for and easier way. I discovered that I could use my English wheel with my flat rollers and squeezed it between some sacrificial patterns I cut with my hand held jig saw. the funny thing is that I showed this on the web a while ago at which point several months later a few "Pro's" started to act like they invented it. Hell I don't think I invented it and sure as hell know they didn't!!!!! The cool thing (IMHO) is that it REALLY is super easy to do - and the results are usually quite impressive. Just my jaded opinion.
Mmmmmm scallops, delicious. I guess I should have seen that one coming. Thanks for all of the painted scallops on cars pictures, keep it up!
i just cried a little and **** my pants at the same time dave can i see a finished pic w the scallops??
