What vehicle used aluminum door skins??

    Model A Ford Towncars and Towncar deliveries used aluminum in the bodies but I don't think the doors were made of it.

    The ones on craiglist look to be from the teen's imho.

    I'm pretty sure Mercedes Gull Wing Coupes had some (or all) aluminum panels. As did James Dean's "Death Porsche".

    Rover P6 had aluminum skin over steel frame.
     
  18. There were a few Gullwing Mercedes-Benz that had aluminum bodywork but most were steel.The W113 series(230SL-250SL-280SL)had aluminum doors;trunks,and hoods.

  29. I have a 1925-27 Hudson aluminum cowl and part of the front door also aluminum . I checked on some of the numbers on the firewall tag and it appears to be a couch built sedan. I believe it to be a 1926. It was a suicide door car, hinges were on the "b" pillar. Cowl is near perfect, not sure what I want to do with it? Maybe a boat tail?
