Ive looked around and havent found much as far as turn signal switches. I know about the speedway clamp on style switches and the limeworks which is way over priced. I would like to see some cool column or even dash mounted switches. Something different. I dont like the cheaper look of most clamps around the column, id like something clean and simple in my apache

Look up kellys hot rod parts here on the HAMB that's what I'm using and love it, haven't had any but of trouble. Much better quality than the cheap ones from speedway.

I'm am fairly certain this one ain't gonna be on your top 10 list but this turn signal switch has been attached to the columns of several of my cars over the years.

I found it hanging on the wall in my granddad's barn after he passed away back in the late 60's.

It was first used in 1930 Model A pickup, a 40 Ford sedan,a 39 Ford Coupe and now it's in my Deuce pickup.

For some reason it seem when it's time to send the cars down the road I replace it with a newer aftermarket switch.

Ron Francis makes a traditional bat-handle toggle switch that will activate your turn signals if you don't have a "third eye" brake light. But they are pricey, about $40.

If you do have a third eye brake light I just activate it with a second brake light switch.

I used a toggle type switch from Auto Wire in my '34. Quality is okay, but the instructions*****ed. Ron Francis has a similar switch. Mounted mine in the dash.

HRP, i could dig a vintage style clip on like that. Some of those are just cool as hell, you dont see a whole lot of em. At the same time im kinda leaning towards a clean switch on the dash possibly and leave the column bare. I just built my column and kinda wanna leave it plain

  16. Hotronics makes a system that is just two toggle switches (one switch is left for left turn, right for right turn, the other switch is one way for cancel before it does it automatically, and the other way is for four-way flashers). Has a box for the electronics that you hide under the dash or seat. Auto-turnoff feature is adjustable for length of time. Works real well for me, but not cheap. What I like is that you just see two plain, matching toggle switches.

A few of my favorites. I don't care for the modern clamp ons. They don't look old to my eye.

The Eppster tub has the Speedway switch mounted on a simple plate behind the dash. The knob lights up and flashes. Very simple setup.

I was looking for something "period" but I like that. Very simple and clean, an elegant solution.

  22. Green,

I picked up a Signal Stat 700 for my '56 stepside... but now that a '59 Impala dash is going in it, I won't need it :D

Was in the process of restoring it- if you're interested, shoot me a pm!

This is what one looks like:

I do the same as ebbster does on 40 fords-but hollow out a 40 dash knob and drill a 3/16 hole in end and install over the green bulb cover--then looks kinda stock but end of knob lights up when flashing and doesn't look out of place--have done 5-all still working

I have this old vintage clamp on laying around. It is heavy cast aluminum, and made in USA, that's unheard of now days. It even came with its own add on signals for the rear.

1953 Chevrolet comes with turn signals from the factory. I replaced the factory collar on my 50 with one froma donor 53. Looks factory, just need to figure out what to do with the wires.

I've been gathering turn signal switches for my latest project (my "dream" car, a '36 3w Ford). So far, here's what I found.......

THEN, last year at Fall Carlisle, I found this NOS switch...........

You have to watch out, as some of the old and slick looking units do not cancel out the brake lights, so they need a separate set of lights at the rear just for the turn signal lights. They usually don't have as many wires as the canceling ones.
