Might be rare , but now it's gonna be a rare hot rod. I wish I had em now. I think I have one put away someplace? I'm glad I was faster on the trigger this time. SORRY
To heck with letting the knee heal, I had start the mockup of the buick, mostly just squaring up the body, and then tacking all the parts together to see what I have. This way I can start building the interior support cage for the complete body using 3/4 inch and 1/2 inch square tubing. It's fun to get back out in the garage and play....John
Nice!! I had back to back knee surgurys in 09!!! Let em heal bro.... Let em heal!! I didn't wait and now I got to go back under the knife!!!
Some of you guys know me too well, but I better take it slow and steady and let my stuff heal. Thanks. I am sure you speak from experiance, so I will heed your advice. This way I wont have to get my knees worked on again for long time. Good luck with yours.
I am even more impressed seeing it mocked up. It looks awesome. I can't wait to see it on wheels with the nailhead in place! X 2 on letting the knees heal. Good luck Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
John, Judging by your past builds that Buick will be one cool ride! Full fendered roadster with a nailhead. Can't wait to see the progress. Good luck with the build! Tom
It should be a little rocket with that 401. Good call Buick in a Buick. Heel those knees then fix that roadster.
i didnt let me knees heal after falling , now i have to use a walker when i go to store. please take care of yourself
That is one sweet body! Certainly doesn't need anything to stand out already.. I'm stuck making my Ford as unique as can be and you've got this great body to start with. I'll be watching this one..
That will be One sweet ride,my 47 merc came with a56 nailhead my 31A is going to get that one and a 401 is going in the merc,I like them, just wish someone would make a single 4 barrel alum intake. Heal up first it's more fun when you don't hurt. I'll be a watcher
Thanks guys for your concern over this thread. I talked to Kevin and he didn't see any reason for it's closure so he reopened it. When I get more finished on the build I will post up the results. Thanks again.
Centerville Auto Repair (C.A.R.), Buick Specialists, posts a "Buick in a Buick" picture on their E-B*y ads.
Both fine examples. WOW This one got my blood flowing. Now I'm even more sure of the build, and my choice of car.
Glad this built thread got reopened, looks like a really unique project. Before you get into it I think you need to research what model it is, Buick offered a 4 and a 6 in the 1920's. Knowing what you have will help in the parts chase. Full fendered with a hood, this is going to look great. Best wishes. Bob
Looks like a pretty solid straight body for something 87 years old. You'll have the only Buick roadster hot rod at the local cruise-in. An added bonus for a big guy like me, the Buick is wider and gives you more leg room than a '26-'27 Model T Ford roadster
Let the knees heal and do the ALL physical therapy that the Doc's recomend. Also minimize the drugs for the pain. I did that and all's well. Glad it was done and I listened to the Doc. A friend didn't do the therapy, relied on the pain killers and 4 years later it's like it wasn't done and he is afraid, to do it over.
