Rods or shops in St Petersburg area?

Help! I'm visiting in the St Petersburg Fl area with friends and getting a little bored. I'm not used to sitting around without a wrench in my hand. Any shops or interesting Hamb type things to do? The oldest car I've seen was a 1956 T Bird.
