Buick is one of the few early cars that never had a flathead. Love the peak in the corners of the hood and cowl, like the tombstone.
I'm excited for this build. I just bought the back half of a roadster while I was on vacation at an antique store. It looked neat and the price was right. I've spent hours trying to figure out what it was ( I was sure it was gm) but could not figure it out. I opened this thread up and it and finally id'd my pile of Buick! Great to see this back open again Ghost . Go easy on your knees while they heal up . Good luck with the build and Thanks Mod's for re-opening Ghost's thread .
I went over to a friends to look at some splash aprons, and he had a old set of stainless I believe model A headlight and support bar they even have the adaptor for a sealed beam headlight. He gave them to me along with the splash aprons. What a guy. It's good to have friends. OH YEAH. I hope they don't get to upset. It might not be to bad sanding on her. I wish you were closer I would talk you out of it.
No, I missed that! I don't always look at all the ads, since it just makes me want to buy everything that's old!
I REALLY like this! I have been looking for a non ford roadster myself but they are few and far between in the land dowunder
It was on there for a while, a buddy of mine went and looked at it, but didnt pony up. Said it actually looked pretty decent. If my wife had her say, Craigslist and ebay would be blocked on our computer...
Just looked through the Standard Catalog of American cars, Buick offered a Standard and Master in 1926. Wheelbase on the standard was 114.5, Master was 120-128, they built 1891 Standard Roadsters and 2654 Masters Vin numbers are on the right side of the frame by the wheel. Bob
I am gonna have to check it out Thanks you will be involved with it and Ray again thanks for helping me get it home you and chuck are great friends. Nope, but the guy I got it friom has another one hanging on his wall. I don't now if it's for sale but I can find out.
I found a an article that was included with the car, It was a master six roadster model #26-44, but not a sport roadster. Meaning the top didn't fold down on this one, and there was no rumble seat installed. There were 2,654 units built for domestic sales, and the wheel base is 120 inches. It weighed 3,380 lbs. The car cost $1,250.00 new in 1926 a pretty high price back then. I paid over twice that amount a week ago. HMMM. Seems they hold there value.
I wish you were closer I would talk you out of it.[/QUOTE] Haha! I'm going to have to talk you out of some measurements of your car seeing as its more complete then mine Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad

Thanks. I talked to the guy I bought the buick from and he has a cowl with the dash from a sedan missing the winshield posts, and another grille shell. He want $400.00 for all of it or $200.00 for the grille. Just FYI if someone needs it for there buick project. I will put you in contact with him. I have been gathering parts for my roadster. I found a brake, and hydraulic clutch setup, and some rear fenders that will fit the buick if I decide to go the fender route. I also found two 4 speed set ups with hurst shifters complete for good pricing. one is a saginaw from a 68 camaro great new condition and the other is a muncie m20 also a great deal. So it's gonna be a 4 speed hotrod no doubt.
John, Looks like you're gathering some really cool parts for the build. Going to be great to see where it goes. Tom
I saw your ad up looking for parts, knew you couldnt stay down long. Good though, the best therapy is doing stuff, not sitting around letting the muscles get stiff. I expect to see you cruising it in golden.... this year!
Thanks. I like it too. Knees have got to work. I gotta build a hotrod. You know me too well. With the new knees I have a new chance in life to be mobile again and play cars. Cruising this summer in the roadster? That's pushing it, but stranger things have happened. See ya around
