it was said that IF this car was built as the 67 firebird as it was intended that the vette would of died in 67 but GM insisted the firebird be built on the new Fcar platform delorein (sp?) may have went south later in life but in the 60's he knew his ****
The Banshee isn't the only car the Corvette (higher ups) people killed. Remember the Fiero? I guess the Corvette people were just afraid of Pontiac. Ironically many Corvette owners of today admire and appreciate what the Pontiac Fiero was. They probably would feel the same about the Banshee if more of them knew about it.
gm also mandated that after 67 no gm car could have multiple carburation except for the vette effectivly killing the GTO's fame with the tri-power citing the vette was the ONLY performance car they (GM) had
So much Mustang style that it even has Ford on the nose! They must've had a huge budget for prototypes at Mercury!
