Thanks guys, we are all excited for this car! So far the plan is going to be about a 3" chop, fenderless, 4" drop axle with split wish bones, 9" rear with ladder bars & a transverse spring. The engine is going to be a mild 409. Not quite sure about the tranny. A manual 4 speed would be ideal, but my dad has some issues with pain in his left leg. So an auto would probably be the smart thing to do.

WOW!, yet another 33/34 coupe find! Thre's been a slew of coupes uncovered lately.

Don, I was thinking the same thing. And (sadly), the cycle will repeat itself over the upcoming decades as us guys in our 50's-70's start "getting out of the hobby". There are still thousands of old cars squirreled away...

  11. That is a super score - congratulations! I would be happy with a "plain old" 28-29 A Pickup... 8^)

Congratulations again, and I love your initial plans for it!

    Nate,
Why are you worried about the old man's left leg? Build it the way you want it, after all you will inherit it some day!!! That's what Kellan keeps telling me about my roadster. --- Nice find can't wait to see it next time I'm up for a visit.

The 32 3-window you see in my avatar was a Barn find[garage] in the upper penninsula of mich. I waited and called for 21 years a Call in the spring, and a letter in the fall, all those years. I even sent my wife over in a mini-skirt back in the 70s.She was to go talk to the owner and come back no longer than a hour . She came back within the hour and said ; WHY did i do that?Never really answered that question. All those years later HE rememberd me and called me from his home in chicago; He told me the letters let him know i wanted it by looking at the pictures of my other builds .he knew i could build it.

This just goes to show you, that if you want a A kar or anything bad enough .You can get it.the thing that impressed him the most, was when i sent my wife over to talk to him.Any man that wanted that 32 that bad ..should have it that was back in 87. it was a Graduation gift to gal in the city of alpena mich in 1932. it went over the mackinaw bridge in 1948 and was stored til the 80s before it was purchased by me in 87. The nicest thing is .I am the second owner of it.barn finds sure have neat stories, to go along with the dragging of one out .And looking her over

ps the moral to the story. perseverance ,complete and continued asking to buy. i think did it.

oooppps!! my 49 merc is in my avatar.its under 32 social clubs .

That is one nice find! 34 3 window to boot!
