    Hey Guys,

Looking for a little help. I have got the green light from the Mrs to take the week between Christmas and New Years to head west to tour some old junkyards. I have one in particular I know of South of Dallas. SO can anybody give me some heads for yards with 10-20 miles of I-40 West from Memphis to Little Rock and then from I-30 West from Little Rock into Dallas?? I would like to stop at yards that will let you roam or at least will take you out and show you what they have. Interested in classic trucks mainly but would like to see anything 48-60ish in Ford or Chevy. Thanks

Do you know about Claude Holt's junkyard just north of Fayetteville Tennessee on Highway 431? He has lots of 50s stuff. Mostly been sitting there since the 70s I think. He is rather odd like most old yard owners. Closed on Sunday. Don't drop by if you have long hair or a beard. Oh, you probably need to be white too.

Hey Anybody ELSE with any leads near I-40 West of Memphis or I-30 Headed from Little Rock to Dallas?

  4. Donald, I can't believe you're going to TX and not going to Flat Top Bob's....I know, Texas is big, but there's only one Owens Salvage Company ;)

    Mike,

I will have to stick Flat Top Bob's on the list. I gotta a week to make it happen when I go. I might check out license plates at the RNR to see if anybody is from west of Memphis and see if I can get more leads. Sorta like a bucket list moment for me. I will have ti nbox FTBob the closer I get to the time to go. I just hope I get more leads between now and the first of December

  6. There is a great one at Possum Grape Arkansas, right on your way before you get to Little Rock.
Just Google Possum Grape Salvage Yard , for information.
If I can be of any help , let me know
Another good one at Pamona, Mo. If intrested let me know.

  7. The "field of cars" at Pomona has gotten a bit smaller over time as
she has sold stuff off. The owner lady is more interested in selling
a complete car, than in sellling parts. Seems like there were a few
pickups there, but maybe not all so many. A neat place, but you
    have to make an appointment.

  8. Its been about a year since Ive been to Pomona salvage yard, bought a 51 Victoria.
Yes you need to call her before going. If anyone is intrested, PM me your number and I will pass it on to her.

Tacson...Did you end up making the trip? If so, what did you find out there? My Dad and I are heading to Missouri and Arkansas next week with no fixed route in mind.

Not enough leads and I didnt want to wander aimlessly. You havent seen any 53-56 Ford F100 saturated yards have you?

Good Drivers door or a set if need be. Can you have your bud contact me at tacson@aol.com? I would be interested in hearing price for what he has. Thanks
