Does anyone know which 60's - 70's gm diffs will fit the 29 2dr. sedan ch***is. I would like to get something to withstand the output of a 400hp smallblock chevy with a T-10 trans. I have 2 - 10 bolts. A 7.625? from 85 S-10 and a 8.25? from 69 camaro. I would like to be able to use one of these if it's possible.
    Thanks

my 1928 chevy coupe stock rear axle is about 59 inches wide (between wheel mounting surfaces)
therefore the S10 might be too narrow for you, the 69 camaro should be about right. And should be strong enough for 400hp if you dont abuse it.

  3. I am working on a 31 2dr sedan that has a 57 chevy rear in it . Seems to fit good

I put a 8.8 Ford under mine . Fit great, didn't have to move the spring perches. I will be running a 292 Chevy 6 for power though.

Thanks for the info. I measured the 69 rear and at the axle surfaces it measures 61"

I have a 80's Monte Carlo rear end, other than having oversized tires I think it works

I know this is an old thread, but some body may know.

I just found a cheap 55 chevy truck axel with extra set of hubs but, 5 bolts.
What rear end should I go for, if i dont wants to cut the pearches of and re weld them? Cut them is last option because of MOT rules.

What is the spring peach width?
What avalible springs will fit in place of the 1928 ones?

I haven't got the car yet, but should be delivered at my shop friday.
What rims will fit and not look to street rod-ish?
I would like to get steelies.

There is a guy on here who used a Toyota Tundra truck axle in a 1930 chevy. It looks like a nice swap, kept the 6 lug wheels also.

Never heart of a tundra, they might be more rare then Nissan Pathfinders, or the toyota 4Runner.

We dont get those kind of cars
