Two friends in ther teens built it, local men both gone now, I'm got it from there son and daughter, they have lots of story's, trophies , all the spare parts, it set a track record at Halfmoon bay drag strip before running off the end of the track, they blew up lots of motors experimenting with the nitro. Seems nobody took pics. I'm just starting digging I'm sure I will come with something.they ran a track in Santa Cruz, I've never herd of a track in Santa Cruz . I've got the trophies.

Thanks, talked to an old guy today said they use to drive it on the street and do street wheelies. I wonder why, the engine is where the front seat use to be.

can you post close up pics of trophies with race track names on them? if you search The Lost Drag Strips of Southern California, in hotrod.com & socaldragracing.wordpress.com., from a article in HOT ROD Magazine October 2003. it mentions that there were less organized drag strips before Santa Ana, including Scotts Valley beween Los Gatos and Santa Cruz. in Scotts Valley you could contact Bruce Canepa of Canepa Designs that collects and restores race cars, and more, of all types. he might have info on racing in or around Santa Cruz.
