i got some 205/75/15 tires and the guy at the tire store said the tires might blow? the tires are for a 50 poncho coupe? is he right?
huh? if you're asking if the radial tire size is equivilant to the bias ply size originally found on your car, then the answer is maybe. The tread wide/ aspect ratio is pretty miniscule from 205 to 215. I would personally cram as much tire in those fenderwells as possible. 225/70- 15 will give you a slightly larger foot print but with close to the same sidewall height. You would be pushing the maximum recommended rim width though if you've got 6" wide wheels. Why do you think the tire will blow? Are you concerned that the tires are a tad small?
they said the car might be to heavy. im lowering the car about 4 inches in the front plus the previous owner of the car cut the wheel-wells out cause he was going to put 26inc rims on it, so my question was if i lower the car is the tire going to rub?
Try to tell the whole story the first time, next time. You need to know the weight of your car and the the load raiting which is on the side wall of the tire to figure it out. I think you should put 26's on it though.
Sounds like the tire store guy might blow.. I got 185s on the front of my F-1 with a F E. And 215s on the Merc with a 460. Yer OK.........OLDBEET
