Anyone ever replace one. Looking for something with maybe 370's gears. Disc Brakes would be nice. Stan

Thanks Rodhotz, any particular year? Stan

  5. I put a B-body 8 3/4" Mopar under my 51 3W coupe years ago. We did our own perches though, and it's a bit on the wide side. I like the look of the tires out near the body, but getting the tires off is a real pain....

I have a '99 Explorer rear in my '52 Dodge. Disc brakes and posi. Mine has a 4.10 which is a little low. Would rather a 3.7 or so.

    1955/56 plymouth/dodge automatic cars had a diff with either 3.55:1 or 3.7:1 ratio's
    same width
same set up and no welding however still a "pita" to check/repair the brakes

My 51 has a 2000 Explorer rear end. Great swap; the Explorers usually came with 3:73, 3:55 or a few with 4:10. Many had posi and 97-up had disc brakes. I gave $175 for mine at the local boneyard; complete with all the brake parts and a 3:73 limited slip. All I had to do was move the spring perches. Look for one that has an "L" between the gear ratio numbers on the tag; those are limited slip. Should look like this: 3 L 73
