    Hi , from michigan usa, what is the supplier of your toyo. steering system, I would like to do my 54 merc. looks like real nice truck !!!!!! thanks Stan

    Followed "Mark T" for mod on jeep delphi box in my 55 wagon, worked perfect, but the pitman arm has me stumped, any help would be greatly appreciated. simpletask, ca

    a PM to him may answer your questions he probably would not be checking a post as old as this.I would change the wording (worked perfect)until it is working perfect:rolleyes:

  6. The original pitman arm is used, but it has to be modified. There used to be a guy on eBay who sold the Jeep box as a kit and offered services to modify your pitman arm for you. I don't see it anymore. I'm guessing he got out for liability reasons

    The power steering I used for conversions on 55-56 Fords for many years in Australia was a Toyota Crown around 68-74 ..it had the correct length pit man shaft and the pit man arm only needed a couple of the splines file out for it to slide right on...one of the mounting holes was in a correct place the other two needed to be re drilled and a crush tube fitted and welded into ch***is...could use a Ford p/s pump as the pressure was the same....had to modify the end of of steering column shaft to take donut coupling....done a lot of these and got it down to a day for the conversion...
