Greetings: After 3 & half decades of ownership I am finally getting around to widening the rims for my '61 Falcon - I did upgrade the wheels from 13s to 14s in the very late '70s. I read the thread about Stockton Wheel from a few years ago, I read the article on making your own steelies wider: http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2006/02/Steelies/index.php. I am running stock 14 inch x 4.5 wide mid '60s Mustang/Ranchero 4-lug rims. I want to keep my wheel centers (to keep my dog dish caps) but I would like to upgrade to 15 inch hoops/rims. Where do I find new wheel hoops/rims in a plus 1 inch size. My Google Fu is lacking in finding suppliers of hoops/rims. The only place that even makes mention of doing this is Stockton - I have to imagine that who ever rolls the rims does not sell exclusively to Stockton. Anyone have a bad experience with upgrading the hoop size?
The Wheel Smith is another option. http://www.thewheelsmith.net/ With 15" wheels you have room for disc brakes. Have you considered upgrading?
