This poor old truck sat in a very wet area for a very long time. The owners lived in a very hilly area and in the late 70's drove their 1929 A pickup behind their house and parked it. They kept canvas and plastic tarps on it...and it trapped moisture and just ate away at the poor ol girl.

Fast forward to this year and a friend of a friend was hired to install new windows in these folk's home. He inquired about the ol truck under the tarps and they said if he wanted it, he could have it! Well, he didn't, and my friend (onecrustyone on here) told me about it. I called the owners and she said the same thing...if I could get it out, I could have it. She said others had come over to take her up on the offer, but left because they thought that they would never get it out. I told her I was certainly interested but I did not want to simply take it. A price was struck that made us both happy and I headed over.

The way they got the truck back there was next to their house or the North side. A fence had since been built there blocking the path. I could drag it over to the South side of the home and across the front yard, but the yard was VERY steep and making the 90 degree corner to the side of the house was gonna be tough with all the brush and hill side. We decided to go for it. With 4 flat tires and the drums being very stiff to turn, I figured it would'nt take off too fast. Luckily the plan worked and a couple hours later she was out and on the street!

It's a rough lil pickup, but with a new drivers front fender, hood shelves, splash aprons, running boards and box (or repair the whole bottom of the box) it would be a clean lil hauler. The cab is very sound. It is 100% complete as far as I can tell. The engine is stuck, may see if I can get it loose. Too bad it sat outside, otherwise it would probably be a very nice lil truck. shows 40,000 miles. The owner sprayed the ugly primer on it years ago trying to preserve it after it started rusting. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, it was more the challenge of getting it that struck me. I may clean it up and find it a good new home, or maybe collect parts for it and see what happens.

Here's the front yard. You can from the angle of my F-250 vs. the A how steep it was...and this was only 1/3 the battle!

Oh wow don't see to many complete ones anymore.

  7. The doors look to be in good shape, great find for '28-29 closed cab pickup and '26-27 T Tudor doors...those things are hard to come by, and expensive when you do find them...regardless, great score, can't beat the price !!!!

Nice. I'd much rather have one of these than a RPU. It's a wonder Brookville hasn't tooled up to make them with a solid steel top...

It came from our side....It's okay though. He dropped off a nice 31 from the dry side right before he got this.

    Chris,

I checked it out at the swap. Not as bad as it looks in pictures!

Yeah, the two rear fenders and passenger front fender are pretty nice. A different drivers front, and splash aprons, running boards and hood shelves you can buy brand new and pretty cheap. Then deal with the box and you would have a nice lil truck

Good on you for the save! I don't care how bad that was to get out, I would have dissassembled it and carried it out through the front door if thats what they told me I had to do to get it for free (or what ever you paid for it)! Can't wait to see what you do with it. But if its for sale I'll give you 200$ more than you paid for it for your trouble LOL! Seriously though I love your builds so lets see what cha got!

:D Nice find, way better in your hands than rotting away like that!

  27. Nice score!
The fate of that truck can only be positive now.

Are you keeping a tally on your garage wall
of all the old Fords that have gone through your hands?

Dang, how do you conjure up all these vehicles? Is the Great Northwest just full of them?
Looks in fair condition. Maybe a little better condition than mine was in when I got it.
