Jist curious if anyone has purchased anything from Rodparts Warehouse. I found thier ad in last months Street Rodder. I jumped on thier website, however there is not one there. I called them this morning, and thier local # as well as the 800# does not answer. I do get a recording to leave a message and someone will call back. Seems that is unusual for a business. I found a Vega box for $116 and pitman arm for 20. Cheapest I've found yet. I'm not implying anything crooked, just wondered if anyone has purchased anything from them and what the experience was. Thanx.............Norm
Ordered one of the vega boxes last week and am having it shipped to a buddy in fl. Called fri. And was told it was shipped on thurs. Will update this post in a day or two and let you know if it arrived in fl.
Aren't they another of the many names of Gearhead Enterprises in Iowa? If so it is a very hit and miss affair. I would pay a little more from a reliable supplier. I am no huge fan of Speedway but they back up their products with quick shipping and a good returns policy. If Summit has the parts that's where I would go. Rock Auto might also be another source....
Don't know if they are related , but I ordered an alternator and distributor from Gearhead and got it right away. Haven't had that much business with any of them. Maybe lucky, dunno........ Norm
I purchased a fuel tank for my coupe from them about a year and a half ago with no issues. It was shipped out and arrived a day early !!! Good luck.
I have dealt with them several times,no problem at all. good price and received my parts in a timely fashion.
Rod Parts Warehouse (800) 373-57733121 Middle Haven Rd, Bettendorf, IA 52722-3309 F On a scale of A+ to F http://www.bbb.org/iowa/business-re...rod-parts-warehouse-in-bettendorf-ia-18002082
Great prices on the name brand stuff that is dropped shipped to your door. Be careful of the unbranded products.
Gearhead is in Hudson, Iowa. Rodparts is in Bettendorf, Iowa. Those towns are two hours from each other. I don't think the stores are related. I haven't purchased from either one of them, and I live in Iowa. I suggest a search on the HAMB before you purchase from anybody.
Got a alum oil pan from them. It was cheap. It was china junk. I put it on and it got a crack in it. new oil pan that leaked . Put the steel one back on. Cut the alum up for trash. Should of known better.
What's 2 hours of driving in Iowa? That's like next door neighbors. I bought one thing from them several years ago-no issues. A HAMB search is always a good idea, then take it with a grain of salt.
The 2 guys who run gearhead and rodparts used to be partners,But now days they are completly 2 different business.
Just an update on these guys. I was waiting for info from someone that had ordered from them so I could make up my mind to do so or not. Being the impatient guy I am, I ordered a Vega gear and pittman arm. Salesman was nice, and informative on what other parts he thought I needed. Deal done......... amazing, two days later the box shows up, great. Opened the box and lo and behold there was a gear box, but no pittman. The invoice claimed the pittman was there, but. Now, with all the negative info I had seen on the company I was concerned that there was going to be a problem. Nope, fella apoligized and said it would be in the mail the same day. Again, two days later there it was. Personal experience says they're OK. Not saying that someone else hasn't had a problem. Just my $.02 worth. Norm
have a customer that uses rodparts and has parts shipped to my shop , always the parts that they said would be sent...slow shipping at times.... always beats others prices on the same parts ...slow shipping at times....most everything is drop shipped,i have resverations about using him myself, but the parts do show up and cost less, don't know if this helps .
Ordered several parts from them. Pretty satisfied UNTIL I tried to combine shipping on several ebay auction items. Days went buy, no response to contacts or calls. Started to get worried about my eBay rating, so I paid and lost money on what could have been combined shipping and lost one item that I was waiting to bid on til I got a response. Have talked to people there who just seem TOO busy to really handle any problem or confusion. Tech guy was very helpful, but busy. If you pay what they ask for item and shipping, I have gotten everything ordered pretty quickly. Some of it is just cheap **** impersonating quality parts.
Hello I've always been an enthusiast but just started a (complex) build of my own...a 37 Nash 2dr. I have been involved in all things mechanical for over 30 years but this is my 1st car project. In looking for the best deals I ran across Rod parts WH in my Hot Rod mag. I ordered the IFS from them and received no problem and the guy seemed nice. Once I put the front end together for mock-up I noticed cracking and binding on the Ball joint boots (after a few weeks of just being mounted with no use). I tried to get new boots. The guys said couldn't just get new boots and that i must have done something wrong to ruin old ones. Said he would take off the boots from new ball joints and send them...at a cost of $14 ea. ($28 total) Seemed high but i was in a pickle. Tried them once they arrived to find there was a 1/8" gap around the basewith no rigid base-meaning no seal. Called him back he said they would work no problem. No rocket scientist here but without the proper seal the ball joints would be toast very quickly. Conversation went ugly quickly. Sent the boots back but had to call for refund-another nasty conversation that resulted in a cancelled (albeit backordered) sway bar and accusations that it was my fault for no refund. I'm not a confrontational guy but expect good customer service, and honesty. I do need help and advice as a new builder and am very sad this was one of my 1st experiences. I would build my own parts and shop in Nigeria before doing business with this Yahoo again...arghhh

I used Hot Rod Engineering (previously Street Rod Engineering, I think he hasn't even changed his website yet) for my MII on my '37 Nash. This was specifically engineered for the '37 Nash. Only one I could find. Heavy duty cross member and quality parts all around. Plus I called Tom a couple of times and he was a great help. Post some pics of your Nash!
look at my oldpost still feel the same.. u will still get ur parts and there just one guy running the show ,,jay is the one to talk to.
And WHO, greazy john are you...??? 419 posts don't make you a mod...and I don't see your name on this site as a moderator... R-
Thank you for all the posts. I am looking forward to being in this community! I am trying to navigate this site and will post a pic and intro as soon as I figure it out. As for bashing that is not what I see here nor my intent. I need ***sistance, guidance etc. If a first time builder can avoid pitfalls from unscrupulous business' I think this is a great service and may determine the success or failure of novices like me. THX!
