    Hi all,
I recently acquired a '62 Fairlane with a blown up small block and c-4 tranny. I have another 302 on the engine stand ready to go in. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can pull the tranny out with the engine or should I drop it from under the car? It sure looks like a small engine compartment.
    Thanks, Tim

You can pull them together if you use one of those engine levelers that adj. the angle of the motor. Harbor Frieght has them. Make sure you drain the trans or put a plug in the tail shaft housing or you'll have a mess.

Just for your information, Your transmission from the 62 will not bolt up to the 302. Ford changed the bell housing to block from 5 bolt to 6 bolt in mid 64. But you may be able to use the tranny if you change to the later bell housing. You should check that out before you try to put it together.
