Someone suggested Skip to me earlier today. It's really only a $50 difference, and you get so much more for your money, from what I am reading. I have to buy a lawn mower this week, but maybe next week, I will jump on that. Meanwhile I am going to pull the intake and see if there's air space under a few valves. I was going to try and crank it soon, but I want to baby it a little now. First time flathead owner. I read about them a a kid, in my older brothers books and magazines. Ardun heads, the whole thing. Thrilled to finally own a legendary motor, especially attached to a late 40's F-1 I want to do it all right the first time, so I have been reading about flatheads night and day. The oil showing on the dipstick is shockingly clean, like see through clean. The crank turns but didn't build compression on a random piston, with the plug out.
