I would love a ride in that car! How many p***es have you made in it? What was the problem you had to fix?

  2. Here is the picture that was used in Hot Rod Deluxe. I made it more 60's though.
There is a ton of great photo opportunities at the Meltdown!

I brought my 65 AWB Olds last year. I thought it would be strange to bring a non running car to a drag strip. What a blast I had. So if you guys that have one but not
running, BRING IT! Hopefuly will be running this year. Either way I will bring my 57 also. I can use it for a push / pull back car if someone needs it.

Ron Leek and BJ love this event. You ought to do two of these this year.

Ive been racing at Byron for 33 years its the best track in the Midwest . Ron is a stand up guy, where do you see a owner at 7 am in the morning emptying trash Cans and picking up garbage . Ron and his crew cares about the little guy . He holds and event called the Bracket Nationals its been here since the 70s He will get 450 plus cars for the weekend Must be doing something right. It used to be Rockford Dragway (Now Byron Dragway) ran four wide racing in the late '60s

...I've been going to this strip since the mid 60's,...always enjoyed hearing Ron as the track announcer, he really gets into it, he's real funny at times.

Thats what you get for talking smack about GM. I put a Max wedge scoop and Ramcharger style stripes on my Chevy II and it spit the trans out in rebellion.

I thought you mopar guys would have learned your lesson from Jenkins 66 Chevy II.

No excuses from me this year, hell or highwater i'll be there. Was there 2 years ago and had a great time . I missed last year with some engine issues right before. I need to sell my 389 to make my 455 project go faster to be done on time LOL.

Shortblock is coming together. Should have it by the end of the month / early March. Heads are done. Blower is checked out. Carbs waiting on the rebuild kit. Hoping for a first fire by mid March.

If I can keep it off the wall until July it will be there.

Just as I have a plan layed out and comfortable with it - an 8-71 and carbs comes available.... dammit !! Now some guy who obviously hates the fact that I'm married is offering me a Hilborn 4 port for a good price.

Ohhh the temptation of it all !!
