Now that I have a digital camera it is much easier. Reversed the firewall, and I dont need a ****** tunnel. Made a floorboard from some aluminum diamond plate from local swap. made toe board from some 16ga. notched my 30 grill to fit mustang radiator got a speedway barebones column and made a column drop using a shaft collar and some metal from an electrcal panel( I still have to pretty it up) found an 18 gallon marine gas tank at Long Beach swap meet for 20 bucks( I dont think there has ever been gas in it) awaiting a flip top filler. I also have an ansen dual swing pedal arraingement coming with a chevy truck m/c. I would like to put a 32 looking oval gauge panel in. Havent decided on seat yet. I will run an sbc with either a four speed or a t5 I dont know if I will run the block huggers. Thanks for letting me share my obsession with you!
It looks like you've got a lot done, ain't it great seein something like that come together. The reversed firewall looks like it worked real well as you have lots of space behind the mill. I'm one that likes some space back there instead of crowding it like so many work out. Hey, keep the pics coming and good luck with the details! Thanks for posting the pics,
Added my ansen swings and dual m/c today.added a piece of 16 ga to strengthen fire wall. Dont laugh to hard at my welding ,it will improve. Thanks Shane T [/IMG]
Mocked up steering today Thanks to u joints from Winfab(thanks Lynn) Now I just need to add a DD Shaft: Mock up is a junk shaft About 3-1/4 turns stop to stop Ya know its the Little things!!!
Looking good Scott! Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to seeing this one come along. Charlie
A couple of editions this week Aflip top gas cap A new dash that I made with a piece of aluminum, a jig saw and various sanders, still rough. And some *****in old Guides, that are in great condition Thanks Roger(HB32) The garage is a total mess,no room to walk! I will purge this week!!!
I have a 283 sitting in it right now but I don't Know if it is rebuildable. I would like to run that or a 327. But the situation may dictate a 350 of more recent vintage. I picked up a couple of 94's at a swapmeet and the more I think about it the more I want to run a 3x2 setup, can the blockhuggers and go with something a little more wild for an exhaust
I like it! some cool different stuff there, keep it comming, also like the look of that floor creeper/jack thing. Havent seen one of them, but looks like just what I could do with!
Its a motorcycle lift. And thanks to the Hamb for motivation. It makes it so much easier when you can get Ideas and parts on a daily or even hourly basis.
Ive been gathering up more parts. Ive been seeing these tail lights on ebay for a year now. They used them on P-51s and other aircraft. I decided they would work. As with everything else they are requiring modification to get an 1157 to work in there but I think I have it figured out. Nice to own a hole punch although this required some extra grinding I like the way they look. I have been collecting 94s over the past month and there is a guy real close to me that has the 3x2 offy manifold that I need. So I will get to rebuilding these pretty soon. There is so much to do! I got a couple of these from HAMBer Tokyo Thanks Also thanks to Hambers for their advice on setting these up I need a SBC thats ready to rock.
Better turn your adaptor around your carbs are facing the wrong way Also in that one pic with the wheels turned does the back of the tire hit the 4-link? Just wandering Looks good otherwise.
Dude...looking good... i like to see it coming together...btw...the tailight don't do it for me..they look like something you get at a truck stop... just being honest...however, the rest looks good...say..what are you doing for a steering wheel?? I got a ****py 51 merc wheel that is bent that I have been dying to do something radical to. Anyway keep it going homie.. tok
Its a four spoke type wheel That came with the project. I hooked it up to a speedway bare bones column. Trying to keep the whole thing real simple as I am a minimalist in matters of transportation.
been waiting for a long time for some good pics of a reversed firewall, thanks for sharing...any comments on that procedure??
BasicallyI grond out the spotwelds holding the firewall in (and not as gently as I should have) after spinning it I had to get clearance from the gas tank, so out came the grinder. I also had to remove the toe board supports from inside the Cab. The hardest part is the taper of the firewall. you now have to go against the taper. You have to bend or cut and bend the firewall until it fits in The metal is easy to work with. Apretty easy job actually and Free!
