So, i got rid of the nightmare of a chopped shoebox project i had and picked up this little gem!! Its one of the cleanest/rust free cabs i have ever encountered! Its a late 31? (factory filled roof) Good subrails, absolutely no rust on the door bottoms.... its a really nice truck! Im shooting for a rod built in the mid to late 50s out on the right coast. Low, channeled, no chop, fenderless, (maybe some small bobbed fenders molded to the bed sides??) LOTS OF CHROME, wraparound dash, too many carbs.... We shall see! Tell me what you guys think! Inspirational photos never hurt either....

Sweet find! When I was a tyke there was a guy who frequented my Dads shop with a '30 pickup, no fenders, hot flattie,( a survivor from the good old days), turquoise with a white tuck and roll, whites and red steelies. One of the most memorable rides in my life. This was about 1960. Can't wait to see this progress.

    Nice start to your project.
Tough to find anything rust free in the lower portions of the cowl and doors.
If I ever finish my coupe, an AV8 pickup is next on the list!

Then it does need some sort of bobbed rears and cycle type fronts. Paint color and paint details are a deal maker/breaker to get it right. Too much chrome is just right :)

late 50s early 60s local Autorama style is hard to beat, IMO

You are gonna have a good looking truck, its a lot like the one Flop is fixing for me.. even the wide bed. If you find a set of wide bed fenders you arent going to use let me know. :)

Can't believe how many pickup builds are on here right now! Looks like a great start, nice cab. I about lost it when I saw that steering column/master cylinder setup!

Here's a link to a Wilcap adaptor for a manual GM ******. If you're using the Ford (stouter so I'd recommend it) use this one

    http://www.wilcap.com/Hemi.html#392302

The best bet is to call them and tell them exactly what hemi you've got and what T-5 you're planning to use and let them match the right adapter to it. (805) 481-7639

Hot Heads can help as well but I believe they sell the Wilcap adapters anyway...

    Good luck!

You're welcome. Let me know what you come up with because I'm going to need the same thing one day. I've got a 354 hemi and a world-cl*** T-5 out of a HO Mustang that I'd like to mate up to it...
