Ok, I know they do not make a one piece windshield for a 1949 Cadillac sedanette, but....seeing as how this one is chopped anyway,........looking at the pics it seems that an Olds is the same shape in the corners and I CAN get a one piece 49 olds windshield, Has anyone actually adapted a one piece into a 2 piece opening, yeah, I know ....center pillar has to be removed...etc etc any advice out there?
No advice, but I know a guy who just had a one piece windshield made for his '49 Caddy. I think he said it cost him less than $350.00. I can get more info if you want it.
Hi Jason...I'm useing a 70's VW Kombi screen for my split screen...I got a ****py one for nothing from a VW breakers yard to see if the curve was near enough and its nearly the same....They are about $130 each wholesale and not that dear if it dont work out right 1st time..its a bout $100 here to get it cut into the 2 pieces required.....dont see why it probally wouldn't be nearly the right shape for a 1 piece....I thought about it for my 49 but I really like the look of the split screen...how much different is a 50 screen?????......Doug
I dont know if it helps but I put the one piece Olds windshield in my 51 Chevy. I just cut out the center bar and it fits right in. So you might be able to find an old 2 piece Chevy windshield and see if it fits.
