i think there should be a new rule on the HAMB...i think it would cut down ALOT on the new threads ripping on others cars found on the internet such as ebay and other internet websites and save alot of bandwidth,,,i think the rule should be that if you post a thread ripping on an "ugly" ride,,at the same time you should post a picture of your own ride,,,,i think that would cut out ALOT of BS threads,,,,

wow you all have a collective post count of damn near 25000 more than me...

    back on topic.

i think butt reynolds is right...dont bash on others until you put yourself out there ready to take props or a beating...

dont say that some looks horrible or has too much billet or isnt cool, when your little kia is all you have...

the hamb needs less hate and more love. much in the vein of mercs "2 cars i love post".

i dont have any good pics to show of what i own or am working on.
but i also dont hate on anything else...

    Grim...

It's a 39 and I modified the mount that came with it to fit the crossmember after it was massaged into the frame.

I thought I took some better pics but these should give you an idea of what's going on...

I've got a '39 X in my car but I put it in before I had determined what motor and trans I was using. I had to mount the transmission on to of the X but it worked out nearly perfect.

I can see that. I almost did the same thing.

I think the main reason I didn't was because I wanted to see if I COULD make it work.

It took a lot of modification to get it to fit but when it did, I couldn't do away with it. It's also a pretty heavy duty piece of metal that I thought would help to solidify the X member a bit. Not much probably but it's something.

Also, my car won't be channeled and I wanted the rear of the trans as low as I could get it while still clearing the stock center of the X. I was able to trim it enough to sit down low on the bottom lip of the X member. Hopefully It won't take more than a 40 Ford style tranny hump in the floor. I'm not quite as tall as you but I need all the space I can get!

It's just tacked in and I've been thinking about pulling it out and seeing if I can make it unbolt so that I can drop the trans from under the car. That might be just a bit much though. I'd probably just fuck something up. ;)

Nice. I had a different situation going on. Model A frame, channeled car, different space issues, etc. If I did it over I would build the car unchanneled.

I had forgotton how clean your frame is.

X-members rule. There's nothing that ads ballance to frame like a well thought out X-member. They're gracefull somehow...

Looks like everything fell into place nicely for you too.

Just out of curiosity, how was the metal on your X-member in relation to your frame rails? Mine was pretty thin after coming back from the blasters. I wonder if they are just made from thinner metal or what?

Get a life...If everyone ignored stupid posts such as this one, or that boyd one, they just go away. Off to the land of five pages back. After all, the people who post this shit don't have a clue anyway. They leave this board after a little while because they realize we take cars and working on them seriously.

Funny how Grim and Kilroy almost turned this into a post with value but some of you just wouldn't let them.
