    Hi,
I happened upon the "Vintage Sprint Car" thread, where I saw a picture of my grandfather racing/wrecking on the wall at the old Oakland Speedway. There were no notations, so I thought I'd jump on board and put in my one cent. :)
I realize I probably don't quite fit in 'cause I'm 1)of the female persuasion 2)blonde and 3)clueless when it comes to automobiles in general. I can, however, check and fill my own oil. And I have taken a long trip in my 1970 Dodge D200 Camper Special after I inherited it from my father who passed away. (It was really fun trying to find how to switch to the extra tank on an L.A. freeway.) I digress.
Perhaps I can be "grandfathered" in since my grandfather was one of the pioneers of racing.

I guess you didn't really search around before posting huh? LOTS of gals on this site who fit in quite well, some even more so then the boys AND just off the top of my head 6 are blondes. We aren't clueless though so stick around, read and become educated.:D

Oh yeah, welcome to the HAMB

  3. If your grampa was a racer you probably inherited some good DNA. :)

Hi Tamara, do you still live in Monterey? I found your pictures posted and wanted to know if you know about the Jack Maurer on one car? My uncle was a Jack Maurer. We live in Aromas near you, thank you, Tina Maurer

Sounds to me as that even though you are just getting started that hot rodding is in your blood weather ya wanted it or not. Welcome from Ohio. I have only been on the HAMB for a little while now and the people here have been very accepting and a wealth of information.
