Approx 7.500 Cars. You find more than one to your liking. Wear good walking shoes.

If you plan to show your car, get there plenty early. We had a 1966 Chevy Suburban to show, got there about 8 Saturday morning, and had a hell of a time finding a place to park it. You just drive around until you can find a spot to park. Good advice about the walking shoes too. The place is gigantic.

Lots of cars...even more walking..be prepared for possible rain or very hot and humid...other than that great show, been every year as I live only about an hour away. And get there early it fills up quick and gets hard to find a place to park if you are bringing a car.

I've been a couple of times now. I always have fun.

It gets really hot on the tarmac, so make sure you bring lots to drink, or plenty of coin to buy drinks. Tons of cars and people to talk to. You can generally make friends wherever you turn.
The swap meet was better last year than other years I found, so that's a plus. The panel jam is always a great time as well.

For me, staying at the host hotel is well worth the extra cost. Stuff going on all the time it seems. Impromptu rockabilly show in the parking lot at 1am last year...

If you've never been, I'd go at least once.

Is there a special area for traditional cars?

Other than the power parkers up by the stage and the vendors the only special area is at the back they have a spot for all the rat rodders. They have their own bands, flea market etc. eveyone else is parked over every square inch they can find to park

I've gone about 8 times. Always hot and always fun. Like someone else said there is something for everyone. Me and a couple of my buddies are heading up this year. Make sure if you do you get a spot early and you gotta eat at Dinosaur BBQ downtown.

Yep more of the newer?? rat rodders than actual old survivers or those who build them like they used to...still an entertaining area to go thru.

I seem to remember reading something in a post last year about no cruising----does that mean once you park your car you can't move it? And is there any place to park where there is shade?

The last time I went took me 45 min. from the gate to find a parking spot. Then grabbed the first spot i seen all the way in the back away from everything. Spent the rest of the day walking, sitting down to eat only. That was the last time for me.

If you can get there, don't miss it. The show is great but the Old Skool reunion is the best part. there's lots to see and do there.

Went for the first time a couple years ago, rat rodders had the best place to park under a big pavilion. Bands, cars, and more than a few cars there with HAMB alliance tags. Sure beat looking at the cars that were lined up out in the sun on blacktop like a parking lot, hardly looked at them as hot as it was. You have to walk the whole place to see it all, there is no order, different style cars all over the place. Guys who had shade on the gr***y spots must of been there way early!

I went last year without my truck for the first time always coaching baseball I am planning on taking the truck this year it was a Great show. There is alot of walking they shut the cruising down on Saturday due the large amount of people there. I also would like to stay at the host hotel for the extra money you get the whole experiance plus I don't want to drive two hours each way every day hope to see you there sweet ride!

It's a bit of a mix of both. Depends on who registers/shows up.

As notaford1 mentioned, they have their own mini swap meet. Found some parts that cost me about 1/4th of what it would cost on here, cause the ratrodders didn't know what they had.

To be perfectly honest: if you're looking for a shady gr***y show that is full of traditional hotrods, this aint it.
If you're willing to look at a bit of everything, have some fun, and do some walking, then you'll be fine.

I have gone three times, hotel first ,pulled a small camping trailer the next two. We camped on site. camping is great if your into it. Evening entertainment at grandstand area. You can get parking in the shade . lots of food and beer stands. car coral,.swap meet . Lots of inside venders. The old school area was fun great bands last year.
Get there early for best parking. I like it better than Columbus. . I will see you at the Jolopy Showdown

Do you have to have a special entry form to park there?

I'd put it in the old school area. I think the more guys that start entering their traditional hotrods there (not rats), the better it will become.

I believe there is a section on the form if you want to enter there, but I couldn't be sure. Give them a call!

  25. Not going.

Got tired of all the cops har***ment!

You can't make a move in that area without 4 cop cars at every intersection.

They've handed out tickets for everything from a license plate light out to what "they" deem as loud exhaust.

It's FREE money for that town because they know nobody is going to fight a ticket 'cause nobody is going to drive back to fight it.

NOPE, I'm not making any "donations" to the Syracuse area.

Like everyone said get there early...your car would fit right in with the old skool boys but again it fills up,they had way more cars last year that would fit under the roof, there was a lot of overflow to the side in full sunshine. As for crusing they usually shut it down when there is a lot of foot traffic which there usually is.Just get there find a place to park it and enjoy the show.

I live in Oregon and have been to Syracuse a bunch of times. My best friends live in East Aurora, New York and I hang out with them. Walking shoes yes, but this is a very historic fair grounds in the finger lakes of New York state. A beautiful area and a great place to see a good cross section of great automobiles.

Gary.... We have gone the last couple of years and also like it a lot better than Columbus. We usually don't have any problems in finding a place to park in the shade. No matter where you park, there's a tram that circles the entire fairground at regular intervals. So, if your at one end of the fairgrounds and don't feel like walking back to your car, go to the nearest tram stop and ride back. Not everything is traditional, but it does have a nice cross section; including many nice Canadian cars. Ken

Yeah, your car would fit in the Old Skool Roundup, there is a mix of traditional and what were you thinking, it's in the shade though. We usually park just up the way, bring a couple of canopies and coolers. Bring a lawn chair, crack open a cold one and watch the cars go by.

Oh yeah, chaeck out the Dinosaur BBQ for sure!

My car is totally legal and everything that is supposed to work does, and I drive it like a responsible adult. I put over 5000 miles every summer on it and have never been pulled over yet. So can't see any reason I would have trouble at Syracuse
