Just got back from Billetproof. Had a great time and met some new people. Best Truck: Best Kustom: Best Motor/Best of show: The Trophies: A Few of the Road Zombies presenting trophy to Best Truck Winner: 246 pics @ 50chevy.com, view em here http://50chevy.com/photos/billetproof_2005
*****in' pics man, thanks for sharing them with all of us that could be there. I just have to say, Damn I love this thing, in car or truck form, IT *****IN' http://50chevy.com/photos/billetproof_2005/DSCN0031 Drew
Great pic's Aaron, glad one of us was awake!! Good to see you today, I'll have to drop by this week & check out the Chevy
Great pics! I was so busy , I neglected to take many! I'm glad you took awards pics, as I missed them! I love that truck. Rob's truck is one of my favorite trucks ever.
That truck is pretty cool I think he needs to do something to make the bumpers look finished maybe a shortened center peice from a 55 poncho. Maybe it just looks weird in that pic, and I'm wrong. Man that trophy must weigh a ton I have one of those bombs and it's like 50lbs. In fact I sold one I cast off of it to Kirk. That better not be my befouled art it would break my heart.
yeah that truck was pretty cool, but i agree with the whole finshing touches, but i don't know how that won best truck... anybody know what won the best flake catagory?
50chevy, thanks for the great pics. I saw this car at Pleasanton and forsome reason I can not get enough of this car. It blows me away everytime I see a pic of it. Every year I see one of two cars that just seem to hit my HOT ****on for overall style and look. this year, this is one of them.. Does anyone have a nice side show. (at pleasanton it was in the shade under a tree and I could not get a good pic).
Thanks for posting the pics. What a great show. Have there ever been that many Model A coupes together in one place before... since 1931?
That '53 Merc with the blue flake roof, behind the '50 Chevy truck in the first photo. The kid shot it the night before! It was deep and smooth, big flake, and no runs (we call them "Roth Tears" TM).
The front bumper on Robs truck had a small mishap on the way to BP and he couldn't get near a welder to fix the bracket. It normally is straight and has another chrome strip on it. The blue coupe was awesome but the best custom was actually the 54 ford that was from the Calaveras club...bare metal and a ton of great work. Damn what a great show!
Glad everyone liked the pics. Thanks. The best truck Trophy Weighed about 150 lbs, I picked it up at Alex's Shop and was suprised how heavy it was. That truck has the style that fits the Road Zombies criteria all the way down to the engine compartment, therefore it was chosen. For Example: if you had a early motor but had latemodel accessories, but another car had early motor with generator would get choosen. I hope I am explaining that properly. In case you weren't aware, each cluB made a trophy and choose the winner for that category. Kirk chose best of show. Boones, it was hard to get a side shot since the cars were pretty close together. That fleetline was very nicely done. I posted all the photos I took. (one of the trunk area as well) Barnett, not sure who did the artwork, but it looked killer. I think that bike is one of the sinner's??? Dave gimme a call whenever you want to stop by.
Well, I got sick, took an unplanned detour, killed the batteries in my camera [so I'm glad you guys took plenty of pics], showed up late, and didn't get to meet any new HAMB'ers...but I had fun in spite of all that. There was a great turnout this year- not just in numbers, but in quality. Lots of cool stuff to look at. I just wish they hadn't run out of event shirts; this is the first time I've gone without coming home with one.

Pic's do it no justice its one of them that looks so much cooler in person! he also had the bobber style chop there that was parked behind the car,not sure if you seen that? but he built that as well, pretty cool bike! Rod Powell actually painted that tank on that bike years ago (R.J bought the tank at a swap meet or somewhere sometime ago)Rod was at the show and walked by and seen it,Rod found R.J and told him he had painted it years ago! R.J was pretty stocked to find out he actually has a tank painted by the well known painter,I bet R.J was glad he didnt repaint that one!he said thats why he bought the tank he liked it as it was and had it hanging on his garage wall as garage art until he decided to build his chop, kind of a cool story! But back to the car,I loved it,it sat perfect and was just plain and simply cool. Very Cool Cars & Show, great people, very good time!I'll be back!
some pics i took from the event....most fun i ever had at a car show.and ive been to plenty30+ years....thanks pop...r.i.p....thanks kirk.
i love the pics so far,and i'm not complaining, but i left my camera at home, and i was hoping you guys would go pic-crazy! keep em coming!!
and it raged through the night...i got one hour of sleep before leaving saturday morning, and that's the most sleep i've gotten on the night before b.p. since 2002.which coincidentally is the only year i've missed since the first billetproof.
I didnt think you would. Its just that bomb gave me a ton of ****. Ive never seen anything that didn't want to be painted as much as the bomb did. The plastic resin I casted it with was having issues with primer.
Our Road Zombies trophy was the made with a real metal bomb and very, very heavy! ...almost took two to carry the thing. Nacho, Billy and Jesse ( striped it) did an awesome job with making it we were very proud to give this one away for our choice of the best truck this year ...There were some awesome trophies made from the other clubs as well for sure. Great participation! CAB
