  8. Gil had the coupe and his "Panama Red" 56 g***er at the Ventura Nationals yesterday (Saturday). Ed Potthoff happened to be walking by on his way to go home and the coupe stopped him in his tracks. It is Eds old "Chicken Coupe"! Ed apparently still has the "Chicken Coupe" Lic. plates and is going to give them to Gil. Apparently the car was black primer for awhile before it was painted yellow Ed informed Gil that the 34 has a 33 cowl which Gil hadn't noticed, and as far as Ed knows, the chop was done in the 50's. He also asked Gil if he still had the br***/bronze skull head shifter that Ed made himsel, Gil has it! Ed also said that this car was rumored to have gone over 200mph at Bonneville in its past, but that is just a legend at this point. So here's a Labor Day weekend. Bump, does this new info rattle any ones memories?

I know some of this cars history.....A fellow by the name of Henry ford built this car around 1934, Looks like several changes have been made to it since henry built it......LOL Sorry it is 2am in the morning and it seemed funny too me. Seriously Forget about trying to find history on this car, It is just going to piss you off in the long run, As when you find the history on an old race car like this, Then the car no longer belongs to you anymore. You have to restore it back to the way someone else had it, And you can never do anything you want to yourself to it...And I can tell you from first hand experience that Owning someone elses car ****S!!...It is funny to me how guys say they wish they could find and old car with history, IF they only Knew that it is not all it is cracked up to be. I have been there and done that, And from here on out I do not want to know anything about the person who owned any of my hotrods before I did....Build it the way you want Have fun with it and make your own history with it, I promise you it is more fun that way. Good luck! One thing is for sure whoever done that chop Done a hell of a nice job, And they were not building a streetrod. That car just says "**** with me and I will blow you off the road" I like it!!
