I know I know it's frowned upon to showcase cars or parts being sold on eBay but this car is way too righteous not to share.

Hand built by a guy in Salt Lake City sometime in the 50's and is built on a 1929 Desoto Ch***is with '28 Desoto Steering box and axle. It runs with a Model Transverse leaf spring, 1935 Ford ****** and Torque Tube, 39 Ford Hydraulic Brakes, and powered by a 24 stud flathead with a 4" crank and big cam as well a hand made headers and Kogel HiComp Heads. The Body is a mixture of Fibergl*** and Alloy and hand made by the owner.

It was then updated by the Grandson of the original owner in the mid 70's with a Muncie and a and a 10 bolts rear but other then that it's pretty damn original.

I won't bother sharing the link but I will share the photos! I can think of nothing more fun then bombing down some backroads in this thing....

I think the mix of the flathead and the parallel leaf suspension makes for a really cool and interesting car especially built in this vein.

Yeah Matt I go in waves but for the last few months I've made a point of looking quite often as I have some key speed parts I'm on the hunt for for the '33 as well and tub now.

Did you notice that the carb bases are two different colors, as well as the mismatched brake cylinders? Some interesting tidbits on that car..

I suspect one of those master cylinders is for the clutch...

Perhaps the dual MC is one for the clutch??? I'd mke room in the garage for that.

I wish I had the scratch for this thing.....or I wish he'd trade me!

You see a lot of attempt as this style but very few hit the mark. This one really does work!

I'm determined to find out if this car had any exposure during the 50's and 60's. maybe a sports car magazine?

Very cool look to it, really dig the body and motor, the whole package. Cool **** always comes around when the funds are not available. Hope someone here grabs it!

Reminds me of Boz the flathead powered Allard built on a 32 ch***is that is owned and raced by Neil over here in the UK. It was raced at Brooklands back in the day, got some real pedigree.
We get to see a few flathead specials or sportscars over here, all of them appear to be abused on a regular basis on the circuits too

Not sure of exact history but this baby has been getting p***ed around for the past few years with the price rising every time. First time I saw it was supposedly bought off CL as a barn find for 2500 up considerably since them. I agree this would be a great Sunday AM canyon carver. Check out this link about the 4th one down the list. I think it's been on here before.

This quote from the BAT posting:
“To the best of my knowledge this car was built and raced in the early ’50s by a man named John W. Campbell in Washington. It was reportedly raced up and down the West Coast for 3 or 4 years and then stored until the ’60s when it was ***led as a ’29 DeSoto and driven on the street. The car then went through a couple of hands and now mine, and has a flathead ford with very rare Iron finned heads. I would love to have some old pictures and history.

$18k seems a lot more in line for that car, maybe if it had a Ford top loader and a 201 Halibrand it would approach the current asking price. Sure would be a ball to drive either way, thanks for the additional info.
