The ruberized stuff can trap water & it's generally a no-no for real protection. I only use WaxOyl, but I drive NY roads...I buy the real UK stuff below

You may be better off using a spray on sound deadener or something...No need for HD Waxoyl stuff in CA, unless you live at the beach

I used POR 15 on my old car when I was in CA. Worked good, but the black stuff turned brown when exposed to UV light

I'd think bed liner would be a nightmare if you ever need to do sheet metal repairs later.

I used rust seal from KBS coatings, on the frame and under body. They recommend a cleaner, and primer etch, 3-step process. They come in different colors, frame coater kit was about 75-80 bucks. Good stuff, I'm building a 57 which I had planned to powdercoat the frame, think I'll stay with this stuff, Mark

Rustoleum makes a good rust converting primer, its about 6 bucks a can at home depot. Wire wheel all the rust scale and loose paint, then blow off all the dust and debris. Apply at least 2 good heavy coats of the rusto stuff. Then get a spray in bed liner kit make sure you get the gun with it ( u-pol and raptor are both good). That will be more than suffcient for both corrosion protection and sound deadening, and should only run you about 150.00

I sanded the entire underfloor and under the fenders on my 56 F100 with a 3m clean n strip disc and emmery tape where the disc couldn't reach, rust neutraliser on any surface rust then etch primed it a couple coats and sprayed 3m paintable body schutz over the primer. Another coat of etch primer over the body schutz and painted a couple topcoats in industrial enamel with hardener added. looks real good.

NAPA rubberized undercoating seems to be the same as 3M and cheaper. Works great
