Here is what I saw for old cars today. I grabbed lots of parts of the Dodge pickup. What year is that Dodge? I had to get that grill. I don't know why, or have the room, but damn is it cool!!!

  2. Bronco is off topic, but, how the heck did it end up in there???? There's a fair amount of money in parts sitting there. I'd price the top, and probably snag it for resale.

I know its off topic, but I wanted to show you guys what ends up in there. The top was smashed pretty bad on the p***enger side.

  4. Not knocking the off topic Bronco, I dig em. I'd pick it clean for resale personally. The Bronco guys are pretty faithful, and pay good money. Even the flares and stuff if you can get them at the right price.

I'd personally also grab those Metropolitan tail lights. Never noticed that they're fairly good looking lights. They'd look good on the back of a coupe, nice size.

Amazing that these end up at a yard like that. About a year ago the local pull your part had a whole row of oldies. The ones I remember where a 55 chevy 2 door, a 50 Ford 2 door, a 40's Desoto, a late 40's Buick 4 door and a couple of old Pontiacs. All the local car junkies like me heard about them and stripped pretty much all we could since they wont sell you the whole car.

Get the rear axle from the metro - sames as a Lotus 11. Big bucks item to the right buyer.

Didn't Hudson also build those? Maybe Hudson had a different name plate.

Looks like a metropolitan to me though.

Actually, the trunk lid hinges on the Nash might be worth picking up. They look like they might work good on a Model A deck lid.

I read his comment the same way at first, too! Maybe he's saying he's not into Nash Metropolitans?

That's it, I'm moving to Omaha. Around here if a Pinto shows up at U Pull it makes the local news.

Wait, what's that white stuff all over everything?

Posted on a '55 Packard 400 last Sept. Looked like a project hauled out of a garage. Upholstery was near perfect. One taillight was perfect, too.

The last Pinto I saw in the Pick-n-pull had a 2.8 V6 in it, which means it had an 8in rearend, and it was a half-price day, so I have it now.

Oddities show up occasionally, but mostly it's an endless procession of Luminas; there seems to be a crew that comes in and clean the engines out of late-model Focuses whenever they show up.

Pick-n-pull only runs two half-price weekends now that they carved up the state and Pick-Your-Part left NorCal. Every now and then something turns up that you end up kicking yourself for p***ing up; one half-price day 3-4 years ago there was a Y-block dangling on the front frame rails of a late '50s Mercury, all the front sheetmetal was gone, would have taken a whole 15 minutes to grab the thing, but I was already exhausted from other efforts.

  26. Looks like a solid cab on the Dodge truck. The Nash Met looks pretty rusty. Friend of mine had one that the rust had gotten to so bad that it finally broke in two on the driver's side when he got in it to go to work. He weighed about 300 pounds. The Nash Met taillights bring a good price for a nice pair with good chrome.and lenses. They are nice looking lights and a welcome change from the ubiquitous '38-'39 Ford lights.

Isn't Labor day one of the weekends? I think so, I remember grabbing a 700r4 last time. Grabbed a T5 a month ago, reg price but still $120 out the door. I was bagged both times, getting too old for this stuff. They put one of their stinkin' car wheel/jack stand things right under the cross member bolts.

Shoot me a PM if you hear of one upcoming. Thanks!

I have bought a couple complete cars from P&P, just buy the front 1/2 cut-off, say on the nash, open the doors and cut it at the A pillars then cut at the rear of the floor section where the rockers meet the 1/4's do the cutting yourself, tell them you need the front section to fix a total and you want to cut it yourself then have a buddy go buy the back half a couple days later, he can claim to need the 1/4's and deck lid but say I will just take the back half because there are other parts I need also, I have had to give a grand or so for a car in the past but they have been worth it in my case, on of the cars being a 66 4-speed GTO that was complete, I bought the motor and trans the first day, second day the seats and 3rd day the entire rear clip, then had a friend buy the front section the next day, I used a lemans frame under the body and had the car back together the next week, had a little over 1500 in a complete 66 4 speed goat good solid car. It took a lot of work but was well worth it. Jim
