Looks like the top of both of the Nash taillight bezels are broken off / missing? Maybe the lenses would be worth saving.

The Dodge is a 47 Cab, at least that`s what it said on the registration I found in the cab. Grabbed the body number plate as well as the Dodge data plate with all the numbers as well. Didn`t have much time so I grabbed the inner and outer handles. Left in a hurry and forgot my kit with about 100 plus bits for my screwgun. Didn`t see the Metro, I never look to hard in the Foriegn section. For being a work TRUCK, it had some fancy inner door and window handles.

A Healey company if I remember. My sister had one. It was amazingly roomy. I am 6' and 220 and there was more room than my Model A. And who doesn't like close to 40mpg.

Nope...'46-7. The '39 -'41 trucks had the headlights closer together.

Think it's Memorial Day and Labor Day, unless they fiddle them around.

Went for a walk through the Newark PnP today over lunch. There's a '63 Bonneville four-door hardtop out there, somewhat picked-over but usable doors, glass, and the engine and suspension are still there.

And if someone wanted Jag suspension bits, there's about five XJs including one particularly clean one with what looks like a reasonably recent set of single-tube white KYB shocks. There's also an incredibly rusty right-hand-drive Jag 420 out there, but the suspension looks ok. I'll have to check out what the rearend width is on those. Just occurred to me too that I should have checked it for a limited-slip...

And for comic relief at the back of the Euro section someone tried their mad kustom skillz doing about a 3-inch chop on an E32 BMW 7-series; they at least had the judgement to give up and have it hauled away.

That white stuff has me goin too. We has some here last Monday and I think its a "driving limiter". Seems like nobody could do it right. I stayed home.
Metros were MG parts. Grab all you can afford.

Those look like the Corvette headers that go to side pipes, used to have 'em on my '66. Evidently there was problem following the instructions.

If that thing still handles reasonably well it would be fun to see it come barreling around a corner, at least until the rest came into view.

That body style started in '39 and ran through the end of the 40's, also the Plymouth truck is almost identical except for the grille and emblems. The seam above the windshield where it joins the cab is a problem area for rust.

  23. Here's the straight Poop on the Metropolitan's;
Nash Motors negotiated with several European companies. On October 5, 1952, they announced that they had selected the Austin Motor Company (by then part of BMC) and Fisher & Ludlow (which also became part of BMC in September 1953 under the name Pressed Steel Fisher), both English companies based around Birmingham, England. Fisher & Ludlow would produce the bodywork, while the mechanicals and final assembly would be done by the Austin Motor Company. This was the first time an American-designed car, that was to be exclusively marketed in North America, had been entirely built in Europe.
The Metropolitan was also sold as a Hudson when Nash and Hudson merged in 1954 to form the American Motors Corporation (AMC), and later as a standalone marque during the Rambler years, as well as in the United Kingdom and other markets.

Went out shopping today for my ongoing trans/rear end swap. As mentioned prior, the local Pick N Pull sucks. The GM/Mopar sections were worthless and only a smidgen of anything semi old in the Ford section. And one Pinto. :)

Things were much better however down the road at the good old fashioned auto wrecker.

Those last photos were taken at Deal Wrecking in Richmond. The owner, Ed, was a good friend of mine.

I figured I'd let someone else say that since I have no history with the owner/business and was sure someone on here would. Thanks.

Dang. Could use that windshield crank mechanism in that Dodge truck. Those windshield frames fetch a pretty sum, too.
