Who has parts for the early McCulloch blower

I took apart an early style McCulloch supercharger, it is a 37F85 model. The worm gear has had some rust on it in it's earlier life and is pitted. I can either run it the way it is and see how long it will last or put in a new worm gear and the matched bronze gear.

Is there anybody that specializes in parts and/or repair for this style. I am guessing that this is what usually fails on these blowers. I talked to John Erb today and he did not know of anyone.

    Thanks. Neal

Never, ever seen parts for those very early models. Have you checked with:

    Paradise Wheels Inc.
    Craig Conley
1413 Linda Vista Dr. Suite D
    San Marcos, CA 92078
    760-744-2400

Craig bought all the parts for the Paxtons, so he's the most connected guy and might have a lead for you.

Make sure to post your findings. I don't know of any spare parts.

I have not come up with anything yet. Craig Conley does not know of anybody supplying the gears. There has been some interest but nothing has worked out.

    Who is Landree?

Craig said that he sold the McCulloch rights to the early blowers to someone in Tennessee.

Have you considered taking the worm gear to a plating house? They know how to fill pits, and chrome plating the gear is not a bad idea.

I had not thought of that. I will look at the gear and see how I can get it removed. The idea of refinishing it sounds like a good alternative.

All the take of 3-D printers gets me thinking that this would be a good application.
