Just signed up on here on my lunch hour, asked a question and then had to duck because I got pummeled for not introducing myself So here I go, don't know what I'm supposed to say here. I've wrenched on my own stuff most of my life, I've been a member on the sister board Jockey Journal for years, obviously into bikes too. Some life changes have me coming here looking for answers, advice and whatever else I happen to find. I've always been a car nut, have had quite a few over the years, some clunkers, some nice. Several muscle cars, bought my dream car 27 years ago, a '71 mild custom Corvette, which was done all wrong. Numbers-matching LT1 roadster, the guy that owned it before me must have walked into Summit and picked out parts for the motor as he saw them. Car didn't seem to run to it's potential, after a lot of research and talking to local wrenches I got it all sorted out, repainted it and it has been my baby. Well, after a divorce a few years back and finally a settlement on the house we owned, I found myself buried in a hole I was unlikely to dig out of. I've started by selling off some of the bikes and, in the Spring, my baby and I will part ways. I get kind of down sometime thinking about it, that car has been the one steady thing in my being for half my life now, but it is time to move on. And I am looking into something I've always wanted, an OLD car. My oldest car up to this point has been my '57 Chevy 150 2-door sedan. I am currently in the process of hashing out a deal for a '40 Oldsmobile. Not quite sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but as they say, one door closes, another one opens. Here's to better things to come!
Perfect intro, welcome to the H.A.M.B. and good luck with the '40 olds! Now you can post any questions you want and avoid problem with the H.A.M.B police!
