58 to newer 6 adapter plate

    hello got an old 48 gmc but som1 put a 58 235 in it does anybody no if yhey make adapter plate so i could put a 250 82 in it .jus drove it from nd to mich. ran good but think it craked a head if u drain water out an start it sounds like a air comppressor.. but made it home 1000 miles
     
  2. Skilly, not sure about the adaptor. Take a second and jump over to the Introduce Yourself thread, read the "Read this first" sticky at the top and post your introduction since your new to the HAMB.

    thanks u guys .found a 50 270 like to use it but halfta keep up to traffic the 270 is out of a army trk 23000 on it kinda wondering how long it would hold up iam wanting to run the factorory 4 speed with torgue tube

    The 270 GMC was a good engine and should bolt right into the truck using all of the stuff you have. As far as keeping up with traffic, your limitations are going to be the rear end not the engine.
