Picked this trophy up at the Big 3 swap meet this last weekend...says 1963 Winternationals and C/Gas Dragster on it...tried looking online to see who won that cl*** and came up empty.
Dont know if this is the real thing or somebodys wood working project ...either way it looks cool. Its 50" tall! What do you guys think?

Is the dragster topper a different color from the rest, or is it just the photo?

Here's a H.A.M.B. thread that might be of some help. Also, try contacting Pork Zartman (H.A.M.B. user name is zartie) directly for help in identifying the C/Gas cl*** winner at the '63 Winternationals. If I read correctly he was the cl*** winner at the '62 Winternationals and the '63 Nationals.

Isn't "Winternationals" one word? Wouldn't the people giving the trophy know how to spell it?

If those engraved word plates look any sort of fresh (and they do in your pics), I'd say itsa fake. Even if the thing was hermetically sealed, those plates would have a little bit of foxing and tarnish on them 50 years after manufacture, just like the other plated stuff on the trophy.

Somebody faked it. This is what a '63 Winternationals trophy looks like.

My 1963 winternationals trophy looks more like dean lowe has in the picture. Also has plaque on it with blue winternational symbol and says 1963 winternationals in blue. Looks like a fake.

  13. The AHRA had a Winter Nationals, two words. It was at Beeline in AZ.
    My bet is it's AHRA.

Maybe someone put the plaques on this trophy...who knows....some of the ones shown above are from the 1963 Nationals...they were held in Indy...would the Winternationals being held in Pomona CA be the same? Either way its a conversation piece...maybe I should turn it into a Black Panther trophy...
