So I have finally found two types of rims for my truck after much searching. My issue is that I put a 71 camaro clip on my 51 F1 with stock arms and she is slammed pretty low so my fender clearance on the front is minimal. I have mocked up a old set of 15x6 steelies with 4" of bs that just fit and I can turn the rubber with no issues (hope I dont hit too many pot holes ). The two rims I have narrowed it down to are either the ET Cl***ic V (15x5 front and 16x8 rear) OR the early wheel deluxe with either spider caps or bullet centers in gloss black wtih chrome lip. Black wall tires on both. My truck is gloss black and chrome. What rims in your opinion? I am torn cause I do like the look of spokes when its rolling along but the black deluxe has a certain style that you dont see alot of around the north country.
I say the Torque Thrust copies! The others, as people have said before, kind of look like wire wheels missing the baskets. If you want to go with the reverse rim look, go with stock and add the chrome center caps.
Thanks Jon, I can see where your coming from. I would of gone with cragars or Torque thrusts but they only make backspacing up to 3.5 which is unfortunate, but the ET's do look good.
the 5 spokes! they are a timeless hot rod look the black wheels will be out of style in a few years (just my speculation)
Thanks for the input, spokes it is! Now just have to get the rear fenders on for some measurements and get them ordered. I will put a pic up once they are on this spring. Anyone know of any other manufacturer of 5 spoke that runs a high offset other than ET? I need a 15x6 with 4" b/s or a max of 3" of front space (front lip to mounting flange). Can be a 15x5 as well.
I just drove Almost 8 hrs round trip for a set of ET five spokes. Pictures really don't do them any justice . I'm going to get a set of knock offs too !
