I was was thinking about doing another engine poll to seperate out the big blocks and small blocks and add in a few more choices and also trying to see if you could vote more them once but i don't think you can.

 

They make "big block flatheads?

I guess the 292 going in my 48 could be called a big block though.

Sure! Cadillacs, Lincolns, and the new 402 based on the Ford Windsor.

 

Biggest block they made until the FE/MEL. So I guess it would depend on the era, they used the Y block into the '60s after they started the FE/MEL line.

Hey I would like to snag a Lincoln Y block for my '38, do ya got one just collecting dust under your bench?

If you don't get busy with other guys their tests should not bother you.

Maybe the original post is re the 337 flat motor that came in Ford trucks and Lincoln Cosmopolitans...could be considered the flathead big block about 150 HP v 100
