My wife and I went to Florida a couple of weeks ago, I talked her into driving down and just happened to have my trailer attached to the truck. While enjoying Disney and the sunshine I ventured on a search for a new purchase which took me down to Ft. Lauderdale, where I found and purchased this 80% restored never rusted 1951 Merc Coupe, It has all new replated original chrome parts, Pro-built 51 Merc flathead with all the goodies, driveline painted and detailed to match not installed. It has an older grey tweed original interior not installed. All new WWW radials. Fresh Black paint water sanded and polished, panels are straight as gl***. The hood and trunk are also wet sanded but not yet polished. The floor pans along with the totally rebuilt front and rear suspensions are also painted and detailed both suspensions are lowered 2". Under the rear seat I found a mint set of painted steel 51 Merc fender skirts. I could go on but I am sure you get the picture of the quality of this restoration. My plans are to finish the restoration except for the flathead driveline, as I am not a fan of flatheads. Enjoy, Larry
Larry's wife, all packed up to go to sunny florida peers out the kitchen window only to see her loving husband hooking up the trailer. She mutters to herself "This can't be good"... Incredibly nice Merc !! congrats
Quit coming down here taking our rides!!! Just kidding, great looking car, now your signature applies to the hood and trunk of your new car. What are the plans for a drivetrain?
I wished it would have followed me home to NW Florida. I'm not your wife but I believe I'd been wondering why we are taking a car trailer to Disney Land! Sounds sort of Mickey Mouse to me! Great car.
I think she knows me by now after 30 years of looking for cars to drag home I just cant help my self, it is a sickness.
Holy smokes That car was within a few miles of my home and you came from Canada and got it. Congrats on the nice score. I wouldn't have bought it as I have one and can't afford another but I would have liked to have seen it.
Reading about Mercury scores never gets old for me. I hope you post plenty of pictures during your build...
WOW, there sure are a lot of FLATTIE lovers out there, I guess your going to have to get in line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
