Hello all... can anybody tell me where to look for nice chrome bumpers for my 46 Dodge WC Pickup Truck? Are reproductions the only way to go?
That series Dodge trucks get very little aftermarket love. Don't expect much and don't throw anything away until you have the replacement bolted on and working.
BB is in a bout the same league around here as RR. Whatever you do, don't send them your original bumpers. That will be the last you see of them.
Have you considered having yours fixed and chromed? Librandi's and Paul's have good reps in the NE-but I haven't used them myself.
Yes , check out BumperBoyz . They hit all the big Carsile car shows and I have seen their bumpers . They look really nice and the prices are very fair as well . Now they are cheaper if you have the old bumpers to turn in so they can re chrome those . They will unwrap the bumpers at the car shows so you can inspect them . When I get around to replacing the bumpers on my 55 Ford , I am going to buy mine from them . Here you go , http://www.bumperboyz.com/showdates.htm Retro Jim
if you buy from bumperboyz do not tighten the bolts very tight or the chrome will pop off[ ask me how i know] they will not warrenty it either
I have a pair of 48-55 Chev pickup bumpers on my '48 Diamond T from Chev's of the '40's. Very nice chrome, inexpensive, although you'll have to modify your bumper brackets to fit them.
Before you spend your money, PLEASE do a HAMB search on these gentlemen. Their reputation leaves, shall we say, something to be desired. Put another way, ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!
