WHAT, Too high up on the fender, you must be looking at something else other than a 51 Merc. I love the stock tail lights.
​Back in 1959, my dad attempted to customize a 1950 Merc supposedly to be my first car. He used 56 Packard taillight lenses and turned one up and one down to make a large fin. It was huge and looked cool then. On the front was dual headlights turned at an angle and a 54 Chevy grille bar with double teeth. It was lowered to almost drag the ground an the engine had 3 deuces on it. It ran for about 50 miles and started knocking. He s****ped the car that was in primer and never got painted. Sad for me since we worked on it in the winter in Okla. Wet sanding in the snow is no fun for a 15 year old.
Bob it appears you have CRS! hehe. You have already posted how you fell about the tail lights i posted of an Barris install on that candy red 51 that was done back in the 70's!!!!!! Anyway here are a few pic's of the 2nd 51 i did using parts of a 1951 Merc grill. This one was done in 04 GB, Erickson Extreme Kustoms 951 678-3520
Still don't like them! haha I like what you did with the grill parts. Is the exhaust gonna come out through the holes?
