I just got myself registered, I used to do a lot of restoration with my dad, but its been a long time, I have a lot of body and paint background, I painted cars for several years, but mechanical I'm lacking,
I just bought a 1948 Chevy Fleetmaster, it's petty solid, but the first thing to address is brakes, I would like to switch to disc and maybe a drop spindle, but it doesn't appear to be readily available as a kit. It looks like I may first need to update the front end..........any advise would be helpful, unlike my car I'm a little rusty.

    Bballl45,
I built a '48 Chevy sedan several years back. I went to the wrecking yard and bought a complete Mustang II front end. I bought a crossmember kit from Heidt. It worked perfect. Just put all of the Mustang II parts on it. Changed to 5 lug rotors and disc brakes.
