    Hello,
    its been a while since ive been on here. but i figure since im in the marker for a hamb friendly car, id troll for advice. So 1928 Model A, I dont know a whole lot about it yet other than ran when parked and asking 3500. it comes with the driveline and the frame theyre in not the white one its sitting on. Id like to hear your thoughts and maybe some things to look at or questions to ask. thanks for any help.

    When was it parked? Is it all there? How is the wood in the car? Does it have a title?

    Very interesting find and worth thinking about for sure.

    Go slow and check out the entire car and ask a few million questions before jumping in.

    Yeah, noticed the Smith sticker on the side, wonder what ole Bill was doing with it.
    Ran when parked isnt really a valid description, or at least one that matters on a car thats in pieces now. Looks pretty solid so far. What I see of it in your pics Id say its a great project start

    From the pics it looks solid. Check the bottom of the cowl area and also the bottoms of the doors. Both easy spots to fix but it could help you on lowering the price. Model A's were massed produced and patch panels are around. Does it have a title? I don't think it is a steel but if you can get it for around $2800 that would be better. Mine was a 29....

    i dont think it has a title, Im under the impression its not as big of a deal as it would be with a newer car? I have not yet seen the car in person, but i plan on going to look at it fairly soon. Im curious as to what you peple think about the right side roof it looks like maybe it was cut?

    see if the header panel is there. Looks to be missing in the photo.

    I will ask about the header panel. anything else look like it might be missing?

    I don't know how it is there on getting a title. But I would pay a little more for one having one. Texas you can file for a list title. But I have had to get a bonded title on a couple if occasions. They said the cars could no longer be found in the system anymore. But don't let no title stop you if you can get it at the right price.
     
  13. See if you can get the 1932 grille shell, left of the radiator and behind the hood side as part of the deal!
     
  14. It's a Model A... you can buy anything for it... every single panel and patch panel is available through Snyders as well as other Model A sources!

    The only thing to consider is the total cost of what needs to be replaced and what you want to pay for the body so that it falls within your price range.

    A lot nicer than what I am starting with and probably worth three times what I paid for mine. I'd think that any old car or truck without a title was automatically worth a minimum of 25% less than an equal vehicle with a title.

    On that body, i would check it over very carefully for suspect body work done during what appears to have been an owner done at home restoration. Nothing wrong if it was done right but check the inner panels of the body for less than stellar body work. Not a deal killer but surely a strong bargaining point.
     
  16. I agree about the at home redo. the over spray on the block and pedal assembly, the column was sprayed without removing the clamp, would make me look very closely at the body esp bottom of doors( interior), sub-frame and wheel wells.

    looks like a nice body and would be a great start. I have found that if i can give someone their asking price but have them throw in a few extra parts they are happy to oblige. might be a way to get that 32 grill shell. maybe some extra wheels or something like that.
