1960 f100 rear leaf spring shackle issues

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 56 ford custom, Mar 4, 2013.

  1. I am replacing all the rear suspension bushings and hardware.I am concerned about the rear shackles and wondered if the bushings on the bottom are permanently pressed? Or? If I hold one side and pull the other it wiggles. Is that normal? Also if the bushings are replaceable should I press new ones in or just get new shackles? Are they available?

Sorry, I don't know what happened. It was a link to Dennis Carpenters. They have both the bushes and shackles.

  10. I called NPD,Dennis Carpenter,The Truck Shop, Mac's, Vintage ford,Bobs f100s etc. Nobody has be shackle kits for the rear. They have been discontinued.I bought two new bushings for the shackles today but I wanted new shackles since the drivers side moves a little and needsto be welded? Or?
