carb scoop pictorial

    Please post pics of all carb scoops airfilters, ect ect Any one have any info on the carb scoop on the t bucket at the begining credits of happy days TV show, homemade stuff included, thanks:)

    Ya thats it!! the only time i ever saw that scoop was on the begining credits, where did it come from-1950s? time period? or is it a west coast thing. That things sweet, thinkin about building one out of sheet aluminum(3 1barrels though). polish and repeat ;)

    What I did with it. I have loved Red's scoop design for 50 years. It was an honor to have this drag racing legend make on for me.

    The scoop and upside down Chevy headers were added for character by the studio, mid 70s.

    It was a one-off design, just to dress the RPU's engine up for the camera. I've never seen anything like it used on a hot rod or a race car.

    If it twirls yer crank, fab one up, or have someone make it for you and enjoy it.

    Both the goofy scoop and the FAKE upside down headers (that weren't connected to the exhaust ports), were two of the dumbest things I ever saw on a car :eek:

    I love that scoop cause i never saw it before, i agree with the disfunctional headers tho:rolleyes: where did your hate for the scoop come from?

    Uh, I guess the fact that it looks stupid and serves no function other than shock value. :D
    Different isn't always better ~ but if you like it, that's cool .....
