Brookville sells the whole unit complete I think they are around $400 From what I have seen original cowl vents and openings are not much cheaper and usually are rotted out. there are a lot of different breeds and years of cowl vents out there and no one says it has to be a 32.

did you use the Willys opening or make an opening and use the Willy's lid? I have a really nice Willy's lid from a 1960 Willys truck and I don't think its too far off in proportion from a 32 is it?

I used the Willys cowl opening as well as the vent...measured and carefully cut the hole in the A cowl, pushed the Willys vent opening up through from underneath and welded away...

I just put a '35 Ford cowl vent in my '30 coupe. fit like a glove, and can still use the flip out windshield. Bought the complete cowl at a swapmeet for $20.00, it was pretty beat up but all I wanted was the vent. Scott

It has been a while but I believe I did center front to back on the cowl top...I had it positioned so that it would help hold the windshield open. Push windshield all the way forward, lift up cowl vent, allow windshield to close slightly onto vent edge, tighten windshield lock knobs. Excellent ventilation...

if the gas tank has been removed, then put a Stromberg scoop on the filler neck, no fabrication needed. When not in use remove it, and close if off withe the gas cap.

Nice work, but I personally think it detracts from some very nice Model A lines.

i used a vent from a 50 chevy truck cab. Found it at pul n save. My thoughts/reasoning for it is the air you get on your legs driving that you wouldn't get just by cranking out the windshield. Plus you can put a block of ice in a cooler and you have pseudo air conditioning. I did this in my 40 chevy truck I have a few years back and it worked relatively well.

Henry Ford's personal Model A (On display at Fairlane) had a pair of vents down low on the sides of the cowl. Obviously, the stock gas tank was still there.

Was going to use a 34 Chevy vent on my coupe. Cleaned up nice and fits space good.

Changed mind when interior space got used up with other items.
