Very soon. Working on small stuff that is not too exciting. Waiting for a parts order for steering stuff to come in. Soon.
I did restore this vintage Fog Horn the other day. It sounds more like a sick bull to me though. (Fitting really)It has an arm that operates a diaphram to bellow.Did get my winsheild frame back from the platers. I am happy with it. It still cost me 200 bucks even after I worked it over. They are gonna get their money for sure. I also got my parking brake back that I'm gonna use. I need to make a mount for it before I can finish my ****** cover and toeboards. I'm pluggin away slowly.

Modified a Hurst Indy shifter handle more to my liking today as well. This will get chromed. I am waffling back and forth on whether to drill lightening holes in it. Kinda like it smooth. Notice I got rid of the Hurst logo and name. Looked too muscle car for my taste. I realize these things are not earth shattering updates but I know you guys like to look at pictures and stuff.

You and I are still going to have that converstion one day I promise. I am still waiting to hear back from an outside big time player on it. Dale

They are just sitting there loose Larry. Had them mocked up for pedal, steering shifter placement but have not got my seat track adjusters yet. It will be soon though. I won't keep you hanging much longer. What are you working on these days? I thought you had a new project after you dumped the 32 3 window.

Had a few hours yesterday and today to make a bracket for my E-Brake lever. Pretty happy with the way it is postioned and how it looks next to the shifter handle. I have plenty of room between the two for movement. Not sure what the E-brake came out of. If ya know tell me. I just liked it. I was thinking early truck.

Sorry Doug. I apologize. I will try harder.I do what I can when I can. The wife has me remodeling the house room by room. I am sick of working on houses. That's all I ever seem to do. I get to work on it tomorrow some though. More than likely I'll just wander around the garage and mumble "What would Doug do next?"

I'll be down your way in April and be expecting a ride so get busy. There are twenty-four hours in a day. I can imaging just how hard you're working on your house.

Got a little time in on my seating situation. 3W Larry will finally be happy I'm working on this. Ha! These aluminum seats were identified by him as Beech 18. With the top chopped so heavily I had to shorten them quite a bit to work in the car. I bought the adj. seat tracks from Speedway Motors. I am really happy with them and would highly recommend them if you need something like this. I am still working on mounting them to the floor but I had quite a bit of work to get them to this point. Here are some pics of what I have been doing to them. I made them so I could tilt them forward to get behind them. I left the length behind the seats to mount chrome fire extinguishers. I need to find some proper quick release pins to make it easy to tilt them forward. I'm looking for something vintage aircraft if I can find them.
I will be making a 1 inch square tubing frame for these to mount on and then that to the floor. It will make the seating a lot more solid than just mounting the tabs to the floorpan and also give me a mounting place for my seatbelts.

Got my inner fender panels back from the chromer on Friday so I thought I would throw a pic up of them. Lots of work went into saving these. These are my originals. Chrome makes me giddy!

I used the same seat tracks in my 5 window but didn't use the floor mounts. Just used the tracks and mounting plate with a couple of tubes to connect, cheap and easy. It's funny to see guys looking for original seat adjusters when a better alternative is available for cheap, like $35 to slide back and forth.

They should be in the car later today Larry. I am sure glad that I could make your life complete.

Be sure to check out the link below. I did get most of the pictures from the Hamb so you might have saved them already if you love Model 40's. If you have more pics please submit them to the page and I will post them. Thanks Dale

  27. Looks great Dale! Really coming together, dig the seat cushions.

  28. The seats look great!! Out of curiosity, what will you end up doing with the seats? Will you paint them or if they're aluminum will you polish them?

Good question. Polishing them myself seems like a real pain in the ****. I have thought about powdercoating them white as this car will have a lot of white accents. Anybody ever polish these things and how? I ain't doing it by hand.
Someone mentioned something about being slow building above. Yes, I'm slower that moll***es on a cold day. This is the way I work. I just pick away at it. I'm sure it's annoying to some but I can't help it. It's just the way it is. I only have a limited time to work on things. I do what I can. I hope you still enjoy my build. I've seen plenty of build threads that take a long time and some of them actually make it to the finish line.

Fish, the seat cushions are out of the rpu for mockup height, I will have something different in it eventually.

Fish, When I get done with this car I will be driving it to the Northwest for some event. Not sure which one. It the Swindlers Poker run was in summer closer to the Goodguys event(Insert warmer here) I would be down for it.
